Devon Broadhurst is a West Yorkshire based poet who was hooked in to the magic of language by her great grandmother, a fellow poet. Later inspired by the surreal style of the poet Caroline Bird, after a trip to the Arvon Foundations Lumb Bank (the home of former poet Laureate Ted Hughes), Devon began capturing life’s gritty moments, her nightmares and emotions – each emotion impressive and different in its own degree – and retelling them within her own surreal framework. This led Devon to study Creative Writing at the University of Huddersfield and pursue her own career as a writer.
