I can’t explain why it’s my favorite word. It’s something to do with how romantic it sounds and all the connotations it holds, both good and bad. It’s animalistic and peaceful. It’s simple and loaded with meaning. It’s perfect. Say it and listen to it’s beauty: unfurl. What’s your favorite word?

Sometimes when I need a little help in the inspiration department I ask my friends to recommend a song, and then I write whatever comes to mind as I listen to the vibe and the lyrics. “White Daisy Passing” by Rocky Votolato taunted my somber side but ultimately stimulated that crazy thing I like to call “hope.” It’s an emotion that’s easy to lose yet easy to find again with a little bravery. Wow, its been far too long since I posted a poem. I sincerely apologize for my absence, but what better way to get back into the spirit of poetry than with verse partially inspired by the music of Twenty One Pilots. Tonight’s Josh Dun Poetry Corner explores the concept of love at first sight, an emotion I felt the second I saw/heard Josh and Tyler on stage for the first time.
