What can I say…I’m a 23 year old that’s still afraid of the dark.
Today’s poem is inspired by the Twenty One Pilots song bearing the same title. Check out their version of “Ode to Sleep” below and take a peak at the archives of all my TOP titled poetry HERE and every Saturday in the recurring series!

Thanks a bunch!!
I really liked this! I too tend to be a bit afraid of the dark, which is kind of ironic considering I’m always dreading the morning of another day. I really liked how you captured this though, you’re pretty talented 🙂
Thank you! I know what you mean. It’s strange that darkness can give just as much comfort as it can fear.
Agreed. From one view it can be comforting, with the knowledge that the day is finally over, but yet I’m still frightened when the lights go out. Anyways, great poem, I really enjoy your writing
