When I read your poem/story, because you are actually a talented storyteller, I almost looked around, feeling you were looking at me. Seeing me. Beautifully written. 🙂
Many people have been that lonely girl in the corner. But we don’t have to be. If we can learn to sit alone without drowning; to feel the crumpled jacket without breaking, we can do anything. It’s no coincidence that many of the most influential people in history had challenging early lives.
I often find myself sitting in that booth, hoping anyone would notice and at the same time fearing that someone might. This is, however, beautifully written. Thank you ever so much for sharing.
We’ve all been there, and thanks for giving voice to it.
You’re welcome. This poem is for us all.
