A Walk in the Rain

A Walk in the Rain The gray consumed the cheer of daylight like a spreading fire engulfing its surroundings, a presence as looming as the fear of asking a crush on a date. I walked outside anyway, daring the sky to rain its demons down and envelop my body with discomfort, wet and cold and scared of the thunder. Exhilarated I kept pace, seething with confidence, willing to take the chance the storm could explode before I got home.

I’m more scared of being trapped inside all day than getting a little wet in the rain. Take the chance, always.

  1. A truth throughout my life, find myself always walking in the rain! i live in the rainy city of Vancouver BC Canada…

    1. I’m always honored when one of my poems speaks to someone, even if it’s not necessarily in an expected way. I can understand how you would draw that sentiment out of it. And don’t worry, I over analyze everything too!

  2. The confusing thing about cold is that it shares a lot
of symptoms with other type of ailments such as sore throat, flu, sinus
infection and bronchitis. Are you one of those people who become
depressed as the winter months approach and we have less daylight hours to look forward to.
As such, other treatment modalities need to be considered to help
    manage MCS.
